I am a rescued, mixed breed dog and my owners have always wanted to know my lineage for both curiosity and health reasons, (“4 white feet, do not treat”).
Now they will! On Nov. 17th my veterinarian, Walbert Animal Hospital, drew my blood for DNA testing. In 3-4 weeks they’ll get a breakdown of the percentages of my breeds.
Join in my family’s anticipation and excitement and register your guess as to my parentage.
Specifics:
My name is Maya. I am a demo dog at South Mountain Dog Training Center—Well behaved when wearing my pinch collar. I am three years old, 21” tall at the shoulder and I weigh 33 pounds. I am very friendly to people; especially interested in babies and children. At home I bark incessantly at anyone who comes near my property. I’m intensely interested in wild animals; always on the scent of rabbits, squirrels and birds. I definitely have the herding instinct: When I play with my pack mate, Eddie, a ninety pound German Shepherd-Rottweiller mix, I chase him around the yard nipping at his legs. When I play with my owners, I often “stalk” them—I crouch low to the ground and lie in wait for the right moment to “attack”. I’m not a lap dog, but I do demand affection when I want it; to be petted, scratched, massaged and given attention. We’d really like you to join in our fun and make your guess as to my lineage. Please respond with “Maya” in the subject line to: thetomten@fast.net –Thanks for your input and my owners will let you know the results. We can’t wait!
